Description

The Sat Automaton is my first published work of creative writing. Writing poetry and short stories is a hobby of mine the passion for which began at an early age. This particular collection of poems and short stories is intrinsically relevant to my identity as a game designer as I began writing my very first pages around the time I moved to Melbourne to pursue game design. In fact, the concluding poem, The Last Show of the Sat Automaton, was the first to be drafted and was intended for a classroom game project (see Haemos).

The years over which I was writing this book have been a period of learning: learning about myself, learning about others and learning about the world at large. I read more, worked in unfamiliar industries, began practicing martial arts, began meditating, began dating, made new attempts at friendships and moved out of my family's domain (in more ways than one). I wished to showcase all the things I have learned while simultaneously sharpening my storytelling skills through experimentation with diction, structure and technique. I believe I have done these successfully and I hope to one day refocus these pursuits into my game development.
